Our staff shares a broad array of wealth management experience creating an advice-sharing environment that is as analytically thoughtful as it is grounded in practical reality. From portfolio investment strategy to complex planning engagements, Evanston’s team members have decades of experience counseling high-net-worth families, as well as investment research, consulting, and think tank experience. Staff credentials include Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and Certified Public Accountant/Personal Financial Specialist (CPA/PFS).

Keith Cantrell
Keith Cantrell

Keith Cantrell is Evanston Advisors' founding partner. Keith graduated from Duke University in 1976 and began his career as a CPA at Price Waterhouse & Company. He soon was promoted to the position of Audit Manager, with responsibility for managing the audit engagements for several Fortune 500 Companies. In 1982, Keith founded Evanston Advisors as a firm focused on providing professional advisory services to individuals and the owners of closely held businesses who needed solutions to complex business and financial questions. Keith's passion is helping such business owners define their goals and organize their businesses to ensure the achievement of their goals. Strategic business planning tools that Keith has successfully implemented include: unique exit and liquidity approaches; identification, negotiation and structure of key strategic alliances; inter-generational transfer planning and plan execution; cost reduction and elimination strategies; vertical integration planning; and product service offering expansion strategies. Keith most frequently serves as coordinator of strategic projects, technical advisor, and negotiator for these complex planning engagements. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a CFP® professional.

Dave Jackson
Dave Jackson

Dave Jackson is Evanston Advisors' Chief Operating Officer. Dave has responsibilities for strategic planning, operations, and relationship management. He is an experienced entrepreneur and business development professional. Prior to joining Evanston Advisors in 2001, Dave owned FirstChoice HealthCare, a middle-market home health care company with offices throughout northern Illinois and in St. Louis. Dave's business plan for rapid growth and offering unique and innovative services led to an operating philosophy where the best, the brightest, and the most creative were attracted, rewarded, and, most importantly, unleashed. After attaining significant competitive advantages, Dave embarked on a plan to sell his company. The business was divided into two business units and marketed to specific strategic buyers. The first divestiture occurred in 1996 to a privately held firm. The second divestiture took place in 1998 to a public company looking to acquire market share and service integration. Since that time Dave has been an active business investor and professional business advisor sharing his knowledge and experience with other successful business owners. He also has been involved with many non-profit and charitable efforts, as a way to give back to the community.

Nathan Snodgrass
Nathan Snodgrass

Nathan Snodgrass is the firm's Chief Investment Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. Since joining Evanston in 1993, Nathan has worked with clients to ensure that the wealth they have created and harvested is used to fulfill their unique objectives. His experience in counseling high-net-worth families allows him to introduce strategies that encompass all aspects of a family's planning, using various techniques in concert with each other to accomplish the family's specific goals. Although Nathan has experience in many aspects of wealth management, he is especially passionate about working with clients' investments. He has primary responsibility for client portfolio strategy, asset allocation, investment research and security selection. In addition, he performs due diligence on alternative investments in a number of categories, including structured notes, hedge funds, and private equity funds. Nathan is a CFA charterholder, a CFP®, and a Registered Investment Advisor Representative. He is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.

Matt Terrien
Matt Terrien

Matt Terrien joined Evanston Advisors in 2011 as Senior Portfolio Manager. He is instrumental in all aspects of the investment portfolio management process, including strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction, security selection, risk management, and trading. Matt's career has focused primarily on quantitative investment research in a broad range of forums. Prior to joining Evanston, Matt worked as an analyst/portfolio manager in various hedge fund entities. He has also worked for investment research and consulting firms, including Chicago Investment Analytics, a division of Schwab Capital Markets, and Ibbotson Associates, a highly-regarded investment think tank. Matt has held positions with First Union Securities, Prudential Securities, and William Blair. He began his career with a five-year stint working for Price Waterhouse in the firm's management consulting practice. Matt graduated from The University of Michigan, with a BA in economics. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago.

Debra Webber
Debra Webber

Deb Webber joined Evanston Advisors in 2009, focusing on client relationship management and business development. Deb has an extensive background in financial services and is uniquely qualified to assist clients in the development and implementation of their personal wealth plans. Her experience includes creating financial plans for clients and tailoring investment and risk management solutions to help clients implement their plans. 

Deb has worked with UBS as well as Chase Manhattan Bank (now JP Morgan Chase). She has served as a financial consultant to private businesses and non-profit organizations. 

Deb earned an MBA from Harvard Business School with an emphasis in finance and a BA in archaeology at Wheaton College. Deb is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative and a Certified Financial Planner CFP®.

Noreen Fahey
Noreen T. Fahey

Noreen Fahey joined Evanston advisors in 2017. She has more than 25 years of CPA experience working with families and business owners on accounting, finance, tax and estate matters. Here at Evanston, Noreen routinely consults with clients on financial planning, income and estate taxation, risk management concerns, mergers and acquisitions, as well as investment, retirement and compensation planning. Her expertise extends to family limited partnership matters and representation before the IRS for businesses and individuals.

Noreen’s extensive expertise helps clients maneuver through the math, the rules and the emotions of economic and financial issues they face. Her attention to detail and follow-through, always with genuine care for her clients, make her an exceptional member of the Evanston Advisors Team. Noreen graduated from the University of Illinois, is a member of the Illinois CPA Society and, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Jeff Cismoski
Jeff Cismoski

Jeff Cismoski brings extensive experience in crafting sophisticated, targeted, and efficient solutions for high-net-worth families. He joined Evanston Advisors as a Wealth Advisor in 2013 after serving as Executive VP Business Development & Director of Operations for BryanMark Financial Group.  During his tenure at BryanMark, he became well-respected in Chicago’s professional advisor community for his ability to bring value to clients by helping them achieve complex goals with integrity. His almost 20 years of business experience includes solving problems and identifying opportunities in a wide range of environments. He designed engine components for GE Aviation, led business process improvements for GE Healthcare, and restructured his own family’s business, accomplishing a financial turnaround. He is a Certified Financial Planner CFP®, a Six Sigma Black Belt, and has achieved FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 certifications. Jeff has a BA in mechanical engineering from Marquette University.

Carlie Dobbeck
Carlie Dobbeck

Carlie Dobbeck supports Family Office clients with their financial needs, including wealth management, estate planning, and taxation issues within the families and their closely held businesses. She serves as a point person and liaison to the various specialized services offered by Evanston. Carlie undertakes special projects covering a range of issues from managing privately held business and partnership cash flows to facilitating property and casualty risk exposure reviews. She also develops investment reports that evaluate assets under management as well as outside assets to show the whole investment picture. As a fourth generation member of a family group of businesses, Carlie brings insight and enthusiasm for the unique challenges facing Family Office clients. Prior to joining Evanston Advisors in 2008, Carlie worked for Hyperion Solutions (acquired by Oracle during her tenure) consulting on the Hyperion Strategic Finance product. Her consulting work focused on helping large corporations and financial institutions perform complex strategic financial modeling using driver-based financial software. She has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

Dominic Messina

Dominic Messina joined Evanston Advisors in 2015 as a Client Service Advisor. He specializes in financial planning analysis, client relationship management, marketing and business development. Prior to joining Evanston Advisors, Dominic worked as a Private Client Advisor for J.P. Morgan, where he managed over 100 affluent client relationships focusing on financial planning and risk management. Dominic’s dedication comes from the eight years he served in the United States Army where he conducted three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has a BS in finance from Columbia College and an MBA from the University of St. Xavier with a concentration in financial planning. Dominic is currently pursuing his CFP® designation.

Jessica Buchholz

Jessica Buchholz joined Evanston Advisors in 2015 as a Client Service Advisor. She serves the firm’s existing client relationships by addressing client inquiries and providing support to the Wealth Advisory and Family Office teams. Prior to joining Evanston Advisors, Jessica worked as a Pricing Consultant for Allstate. In this position, she managed pricing projects for both personal and commercial lines of insurance, performing highly complex actuarial functions used in determination of the indicated rate level need for a line of business. While implementing projects across many functional areas within Allstate, she maintained compliance with regulatory authorities. Jessica also has experience working as a mortgage loan officer and a small business bookkeeper. She has a bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA with a concentration in quantitative analysis from Roosevelt University. 

Amy Gierak

Amy Gierak brings extensive experience in implementing system solutions for manufacturing companies. She joined Evanston Advisors as a Client Service Advisor in 2015. Her 30 years of business experience includes solving problems and identifying business process improvements in a wide range of environments. An active member of the Financial Planning Association, Amy is a candidate for CFP® and has passed the FINRA Series 65 certification exam. She has a BS in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and completed her financial planning coursework at the Center for Professional Education at Boston University.

Carmen
Carmen Santisteven

Carmen Santisteven joined Evanston Advisors in 2017 as a Client Service Specialist. Carmen works with clients to provide tax and family office accounting solutions. Prior to joining Evanston Advisors, Carmen worked as a senior staff member at a boutique accounting and consulting firm. She has fifteen years’ experience with general business accounting, monthly accounting, and individual and entity taxation. Carmen works side-by-side with Client Service Advisors and Wealth Advisors answering client inquiries and providing support to the Wealth Advisory team.
